With Manitoba’s wedding season just around the corner, we thought we’d share some of our Tips for Planning Your Wedding!
Or favourite tip is to enjoy being engaged for a while! Don’t think you have to decide everything as soon as you get engaged! It’s ok to take your time! It takes a while to get used to saying fiancé, so why not relish the moment just a bit longer before diving into planning mode.
After you’ve come down a little from the high of getting engaged, you’ll want to take the time to talk about what is truly important to both of you. Working together to decide what’s most important to you can be helpful when it comes time to figure out your budget! Everyone has their own ideas of what they want for their wedding, so don’t be afraid to do your own thing!
Probably the first step in the planning process it to find and book your wedding venue. Popular venues tend to book up quickly, so the sooner you can decide the better! As an example, Outdoor venues are becoming more popular here in Manitoba and they tend to book up a year or 2 in advance (all thanks to our short summers!). Don’t be afraid to check out other venues that are similar.
When choosing your vendors (photographer, videographer, cake designer, florist, reception venue, limo company, jeweller, caterer) our biggest advice is to go with your gut and choose ones who you connect with and that you can trust. We always make sure to let our couples know that they can reach out to us whenever they need! One of the benefits of working in the wedding industry is that we have LOADS of experience! We’ve worked with so many incredible vendors and encountered so many different situations that we will always try to help answer any question you may have!
And most importantly, on your wedding day, HAVE FUN! No seriously! Don’t forget to enjoy every last minute of you wedding day! You’ve done the planning, now it’s time to take it all in! And don’t worry, as photographers, we’ll be with you every step of the way to capture all the amazing moments of the day!
We hope this makes planning a little less stressful!! Let us know if you’d like to hear more tips!
